Some of my favorite childhood memories live in summertime. I remember swimming in the lake up north, my mom and dad teaching my brother and me how to waterski, running through the sprinkler and playing games with my cousins at our family’s annual Father’s Day picnic. Summer felt endless then. As adults, the season can slip by in the blink of an eye. At Natural Awakenings, one of our hopes is to help encourage a slower pace—to appreciate the present moment, reconnect with what matters most and savor the season more fully this year.

It seems impossible to scroll online today without seeing advertisements promising more energy, muscle or vitality through quick fixes or medications as a first resort. In this month’s Men’s Wellness issue, we explore what it truly means to cultivate strength, vitality and resilience through sustainable habits that support long-term well-being. Before jumping into testosterone therapy, the article highlights the importance of proper diagnosis and foundational lifestyle habits that support hormonal health naturally.

We also explore the essential role sleep plays in physical, emotional and cognitive wellness. In a culture that often celebrates exhaustion and overwork, quality rest remains one of the most powerful forms of self-care.

This issue also reminds us that wellness extends beyond ourselves. Our Eco Tip encourages a sustainable, eco-conscious approach to fashion, while our Conscious Eating article offers healthier, more creative ways to enjoy summer grilling season with nourishing, flavorful meals that can be shared with the whole family.

We hope you make time to enjoy the outdoors, share a meal on the patio, move your body, nourish yourself well, rest deeply and cherish meaningful moments with the people you love.

To all the fathers, grandfathers, mentors and positive male role models in our community, we wish you a joyful Father’s Day and a healthy, vibrant summer ahead.

With gratitude,
