Milwaukee Makers Market Returns for a New Season of Creativity and Community
May 29, 2026 ● By Natural Awakenings Milwaukee
Milwaukee’s vibrant maker community is once again taking center stage with the Milwaukee Makers Market & Marketplace 2026 season in full swing. Founded by local artist Ryan Laessig, the free monthly market continues its mission of supporting artists, crafters and small businesses while creating meaningful connections throughout the community.
Since its beginnings in 2017, Milwaukee Makers Market has evolved into one of the area’s largest and longest-running curated maker markets. What started as a smaller gathering has grown into a celebrated community event held at venues across Milwaukee from April through December. Each market showcases a carefully selected mix of local makers offering handmade goods, artisan foods and original artwork that reflect the creativity and entrepreneurial spirit of the region.
Visitors can browse an ever-changing assortment of handcrafted products including ceramics, woodwork, candles, home décor, jewelry, illustrations, specialty foods and wellness-inspired goods. Organizers intentionally vary vendors from market to market to create a fresh experience for returning attendees while supporting a wide range of local creators.
“It’s a celebration of Milwaukee’s creators and our local community,” Laessig says. He notes that each event is thoughtfully curated to ensure variety, quality craftsmanship and opportunities for small businesses to grow their visibility and customer base.
Beyond shopping, the markets foster personal connections between makers and community members, encouraging shoppers to learn the stories behind the products they purchase and directly support local entrepreneurs. The gatherings also strengthen Milwaukee’s creative economy while promoting sustainable, community-centered commerce.
Each Milwaukee Makers Market runs from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., with locations changing throughout the season. For the complete 2026 schedule, visit MilwaukeeMakersMarket.com.
