As publisher, I have the privilege of connecting with many of the local practitioners, educators and business owners who are dedicated to helping others live healthier, fuller lives. What continually inspires me is not simply their expertise, but their willingness to share it.
They spend countless hours caring for patients, supporting families, pursuing continuing education and staying current with evolving research. Then, despite their already demanding schedules, they take the time to educate our community through these pages.
That generosity deserves recognition.
This August, we are honored to showcase five local featured articles—a reflection of the remarkable depth of knowledge, compassion and leadership that exists right here in our own community.
Novia Gscheidmeier, holistic health practitioner, explores why changing weather often affects pain levels and how acupuncture, chiropractic care, red light therapy and other approaches may help people move through seasonal transitions with greater comfort.
Another local article from Dr. Neal Pollack explains how prolotherapy can help the body heal chronic musculoskeletal pain by supporting the repair of weakened connective tissue rather than simply masking symptoms.
Dr. Ann Bell, D.C., reminds us that true weight loss and body transformation goes beyond the number on a scale, emphasizing confidence, sustainable habits and whole-person wellness.
Kari Turner, women’s wellness therapist, offers a thoughtful perspective on therapy and counseling as an investment in resilience, growth and living well rather than a last resort. “In reality, therapy is for anyone seeking healing, personal growth, healthier relationships or support through life’s inevitable challenges.”
And Dr. Jana Ledic and the Holistic Dentistry of Port Washington team encourage readers to be cautious with artificial intelligence, and to use it not to replace critical thinking, but to ask better questions and become more informed participants in their own healthcare decisions.
Collectively, these articles reflect a shared commitment to education, prevention, empowerment and helping people understand the “why” behind their health.
Our feature story, Raising Healthy Humans: A Holistic Approach to Pediatric Care, continues that theme by exploring how integrative approaches can help children thrive from the very beginning of life.
I encourage you to spend a little extra time with this issue. You may discover a new perspective, practitioner or simply one idea that alters how you approach your own health journey.
Most of all, I invite you to celebrate the incredible wellness leaders who call our community home and make our mission possible. When you visit their practices, attend their events or share their work with others, you help strengthen a community where education, collaboration and healing continue to flourish.
Thank you for supporting local voices, local businesses and a healthier community for all.
With gratitude,
Jordan Peschek, RN-BSN, Publisher
