Detoxification is gaining traction as a key component of holistic wellness. Chandra Houser, founder of Natural Escape LLC Wellness Begins Within, understands the transformative power of this practice. She has overcome many health issues throughout her life, including stage 2 breast cancer. She draws from her own personal experience which drives her dedication to helping guests, with gratitude and respect, achieve positive lifestyle changes. Collaborating with a network of practitioners, Houser aims to educate the community about the benefits of holistic modalities and promote self-care.

From stress relief and detoxification to pain management and weight management, her team focuses on addressing root causes through individualized health coaching. They empower guests to take charge of their well-being, and support them towards optimal health and vitality. On November 11, from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m., Natural Escape will be hosting an open house to welcome the community as they continue to expand and evolve.

At Natural Escape, Houser specializes in a range of detoxification services including colon hydrotherapy, therapeutic massage, facials, lymphatic drainage, ionic footbaths, infrared red-light therapy and sauna detox. Colon hydrotherapy, also known as colon cleansing or colonics, is a highly effective technique that involves the gentle infusion of filtered water into the rectum to flush out impacted stool, toxins and harmful organisms from the large intestine.

“Colonics can detoxify the body to help improve digestive health, and it may also help relieve constipation and promote bowel regularity,” Houser explains. She has over 15 years of experience in safe detoxification services, and is one of the few colon hydrotherapists in the area that uses the Angel of Water Colon Irrigation System. “The unique open system offers a gentler, cleaner elimination of waste and urine than closed-loop systems,” Houser says, having trained on both units. “Clients experience greater comfort and are often able to achieve a complete cleanse with fewer seasonal treatments. This not only saves time but can also be more cost-effective in the long run. It’s the responsibility of each individual and colon hydrotherapist to discuss the differences of each system and allow the person to choose to experience what works best for them.”

An entire colonics session can last up to 90 minutes, which Houser says includes before- and after-treatment hygiene. Clients undress and recline in a private basin and then Houser begins the flushing process. She uses ozonated water, castor oil packs, lymphatic drainage techniques and red-light therapy during the treatments to enhance detoxification benefits. Colon hydrotherapy differs from an enema in that it flushes out a large portion of the colon with multiple treatments, whereas an enema is a one-time infusion of water to help evacuate the lower colon.

In addition to colon hydrotherapy, Natural Escape now offers a service called lymphatic enhancement technology (LET), a non-invasive therapy designed to detoxify the lymphatic system.

As an added incentive, Natural Escape will provide a free, infrared sauna session with any service purchased through the rest of this year. Houser shares, “Our mission is clear: to help others discover the transformative power of wellness within, and guide others towards a more vibrant, balanced and revitalized life of well-being.”
