Celebrate Spring at Prairie Hill Waldorf School

The May Faire Celebration, May 12, at Prairie Hill Waldorf School, in Pewaukee, features a range of activities for families and children of all ages, including an old-fashioned cakewalk and maypole dancing.

The school also offers a summer program for children in pre-school through third grade that is open to current students, prospective students or any child wanting to experience the warmth and the beauty of the out-of-doors in a welcoming and imaginative environment.

A fundamental aspect of Waldorf education is a commitment to nurture and sustain the natural world. Through curriculum and activities such as gardening, composting and student-managed recycling programs, students learn to become stewards of the environment in which they live.

Students at the 13-acre Prairie Hill Waldorf School explore a large range of physical activity through practical daily work such as grinding grain, sawing, kneading and chopping. Outdoor play, including gardening, swinging, sledding, hiking, climbing, running and exploring the woods, provides for healthy physical development.
