Natural Awakenings Milwaukee

Letter from Publisher

A little over nine years ago, in June 2011, I published the first issue of Milwaukee’s Natural Awakenings magazine. It has been such a privilege to serve our healthy-minded community for almost a decade. Lovingly and conscientiously publishing the magazine since then has been and will remain one of the most rewarding and life-changing chapters of my life. I will forever cherish the many dear friendships and connections I have made during this time, the tremendous personal growth that I have been blessed with and the rewarding experience of owning a business and helping other local businesses grow and flourish.

It is with a joyful heart that I welcome the transition of the Milwaukee Natural Awakenings magazine to the new owner/publisher, Jordan Peschek, RN-BSN. Jordan is excited to join Natural Awakenings and partner with local businesses to promote healthy lifestyles and green living in the community. A Wisconsin native, Jordan grew up in the Milwaukee area and studied nursing, business and leadership at UW-Madison. Her background includes travel psychiatric nursing, personal training, yoga instruction, essential oils and toxin-free living. These align with her passions of holistic health, wellness and environmental awareness.

We will be working together to ensure a smooth and seamless transition, with Jordan taking the helm for the October edition. She is looking forward to kicking off this next phase of life with the Natural Awakenings family, and I know she will do a great job expanding our message and footprint in the Milwaukee community.

In Hebrew, the word Shalom means hello, goodbye and peace—not just the absence of war, but also describing an inner sense of completeness, wholeness and tranquility. I bid you all Shalom as I move on to life’s next adventure, and may we all pray for true Shalom to bless our community, our wonderful country and this beautiful world we live in!
