Raise a Glass for a Good Cause Through 12 Bars of Milwaukee Event

This holiday season, Milwaukee will join other cities including Denver and St. Louis in participating in the 12 Bars of Charity movement to raise money for selected local nonprofits, while supporting area bars and restaurants.

The 12 Bars of Milwaukee event was created this year to help local charities build awareness, attract local members and raise money for their organizations. The event takes place from 8 p.m. to midnight, December 7, at participating bars and restaurants throughout Downtown Milwaukee.

Participants can register online and select to join one of eight charity teams: Autism Speaks, Hunger Task Force, Ronald McDonald House Charities, Wisconsin Humane Society, Big Brothers Big Sisters of Metro Milwaukee, Lucky Mutts Rescue, Feeding America Eastern Wisconsin or Alzheimer’s Association.

Upon registering, $10 will go to the charity of choice, and participants receive a team sweatshirt and shuttle pass. On the night of the pub crawl, participants bring their printed ticket and identification to register and pick up their 12 Bars shirt and other items, and then they can start the pub crawl.

There is no start or end point for the pub crawl, and one may start at any bar or restaurant of choice. The shuttles run a continuous loop around the bars.

Cost: $30 plus tax. For more information, visit 12BarsOfCharity.com/Milwaukee.
