Point Back to the Land
Promotes Sustainability

The Stevens Point area in central Wisconsin is known locally and nationally as a leader in sustainability. It is home to a plethora of sustainable farms, eateries, breweries, businesses, art organizations and outdoor fun opportunities. Come explore the area during a series of weekend trips and tours hosted as part of the Point Back to the Land summer event kickoff. Events are planned from May 20 through 21, and May 26 through 28. Events continue throughout the first weekend in July.

Point Back to the Land offers a variety of excursions focused on the unique sustainability practices found throughout Stevens Point. In May, participants can tour sustainable homes and farms, start a garden with organic plants and learn how to incorporate sustainable practices into daily life. Tourists can find discounts and deals, and suggested weekend itineraries for sustainable journeys highlight the best deals available.

Citizen- and government-led stewardship of natural resources, with strong support from local businesses and advocacy groups, has helped create an exceptionally high quality of life in Stevens Point and produced a community that implements eco-friendly practices. Sustainability leaders in the region include Central Rivers Farmshed, the Midwest Renewable Energy Association and the University of Wisconsin–Stevens Point.
