W ellspring, an organic farm and nonprofit education and retreat center in West Bend, is offering summer camps for children in grades kindergarten through 10 to learn farming skills, explore nature and make friends. Camps begin the week of June 22 through 26 for kindergarteners through seventh graders. This age group will also have an opportunity to participate in a camp from August 3 through 7. A session that runs from July 27 through August 1 will host grades eight through 10.

The camps offer the opportunity for kids to spend the summer learning about the natural environment and gardening through hands-on exploration, using Wellspring’s vast farm property as a classroom. Participants will learn about and eat different types of vegetables and learn about the harmony between farmers, plants and various types of insects and animals.
