Timothy Westbrook Fiber Arts Show at Pfister Hotel

Milwaukee artist Timothy Westbrook will show his sustainable fiber artwork in a “performative” fashion show titled Legacy, at 8:30 p.m., March 19, at the Pfister Hotel Imperial Ballroom. Performances are themed around the pressure young people face when making career and life choices based upon the guidance of others. All elements of the show are built from reclaimed items such as woven cassette tape material and plastic bags.

In addition to conventional young, slim runway models, the show will include models over the age of 30, male models, female impersonators and figure skaters. To coincide with the show’s theme, performances will illustrate Westbrook’s personal saga of choosing whether to pursue visual arts or the competitive sport of figure skating. Elements of the show will be transported via bicycle from Westbrook’s studio to the Pfister Hotel.Timothy Westbrook

Westbrook, a graduate of Syracuse University in New York, moved to Milwaukee for Pfister Hotel’s Artist-In-Residence program.
