Solar Riverwest Offers Group Buy Program for Solar Installation

Solar Riverwest will hold educational meetings at several locations in April and May to inform Milwaukee residents about Milwaukee’s first neighborhood group buy program for solar installation. Designed for home and business owners in the Riverwest neighborhood and available to any resident of Milwaukee, the limitedtime program can help invest in solar installations at low, volume-based pricing. Home or business owners can enroll in the program from now through July.

The enrollment allows customers to receive bids from selected installers screened by the Riverwest Cooperative Alliance through a competitive bid process to ensure quality work at a low cost to customers. The chosen installers will provide bids to those interested in participating so that they can make a decision about whether to proceed. The more customers that proceed, the lower cost for everyone involved.

Solar Riverwest will also help customers connect with other incentives and financing solutions, such as a 30 percent federal tax credit, a Focus on Energy cash-back incentive and a Milwaukee Solar incentive. Homeowners can also utilize low-interest solar loans through Milwaukee Shines to help cover the balance of a system’s cost.
