Greendale Schools’ Nourish Expo

Greendale Schools will host its third annual Mind, Body and Environment Expo, called Nourish, from 10 a.m. to 2:30 p.m., May 11, at Greendale High School. The event starts with a 5K run/walk, followed by a keynote address at 11:15 a.m. by Registered Dietitian Betty Holloway, MNS, owner of Nutriphoria LLC. The expo opens at noon, and features a bike helmet demonstration and giveaway, plus vendor exhibits and other activities related to living a healthy and eco-friendly lifestyle. The event is open to the public and admission to the expo is free.

Greendale High School Pro-Start culinary arts students will prepare and serve a healthy, three-course lunch from 11:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m., using ingredients grown or made within 150 miles of Greendale; preregistration is requested. The nominal fee collected for lunch will be donated to the Hunger Task Force of Milwaukee.

Participation in the 5K run/walk is free, but advance registration is requested. Participants receive a T-shirt for a donation of $10 or more to benefit Suicide Awareness Voices of Education (SAVE.org), one of the nation’s first organizations dedicated to the prevention of suicide.

Location: 6801 Southway, Greendale. For more information or to preregister for the 5K run/walk or lunch, visit Greendale.k12.wi.us/nourish.
