Earth Day Bike Summit Celebrates Pedal-Powered Transportation

The Greener Oconomowoc Earth Day Bike Summit, from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m., April 21, at the Oconomowoc Arts Center, promises a schedule packed with family-friendly, bicycle-related fun. From 11 a.m. until 2 p.m., attendees can enjoy a locally sourced brunch and bike expo, featuring experts from Wisconsin bike clubs and businesses.

Wheel & Sprocket will perform free bike safety checks, and ProHealth Care, a community-based health care system serving Waukesha County, will provide and fit bike helmets, while supplies last, in toddler, child, youth and adult sizes for $10 each.

The event also includes a forum discussion, biking demonstrations and a preview screening of the documentary film, Pedaling a Dream, which will be followed by a Q&A with the filmmaker, Jeff Barrie.
