Milwaukee Chapter of 350.org Seeks New Members

The Milwaukee chapter of 350.org—an international grassroots movement to solve the climate change crisis—invites Milwaukeeans to join its monthly meetings, held the second Tuesday of each month, at the Riverside location of the Urban Ecology Center, in Milwaukee. 350.org was founded by environmentalist, author and journalist Bill McKibben and produces events such as the climate change rally held in Washington, D.C., on February 17, that galvanized more than 50,000 participants. Volunteer organizers in more than 188 countries have led massive public actions to hold world leaders accountable to the realities of science and the principles of justice.

To preserve our planet, scientists tell us we must reduce the amount of CO2 in the atmosphere from its current level of 392 parts per million to below 350 ppm. More than just a number, 350 is a symbol of the direction in which we need to head. Climate change has the potential to affect all our lives in significant ways—future generations are counting on us to manage it as responsible stewards of the planet. Joining 350.org helps individuals to become change agents to create a more sustainable and equitable future world.
