Oconomowoc Winter Farmers’ Market Opens November 11

Rochelle Ripp, Alice in Dairyland

Celebrating the winter harvest, the Oconomowoc Winter Farmers’ Market (OWFM) reopens November 11 for its third season. Located inside the greenhouses at Oconomowoc Landscape Supply and Garden Center, OWFM is open from 9:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m., the second and fourth Sunday of the month, from November through March. Free educational programs are presented each week. Most market vendors offer free samples, as well.

On opening day, Rochelle Ripp, the 65th Alice in Dairyland, will greet market-goers and answer questions about local food. Alice in Dairyland is Wisconsin’s official agriculture ambassador, traveling the state to promote its $59 billion agriculture economy and educate consumers of all ages about where their food comes from. She will present a brief speech during the 10 a.m. ribbon-cutting ceremony. Parents are encouraged to bring their children to the market to visit her educational display table until 11:30 a.m.

Cost: Free. Location: N68 W37850 County Trunk K, Oconomowoc. For more information, call the Oconomowoc Area Chamber of Commerce at 262-567-2666, email [email protected] or visit Oconomowoc.org.
