Montessori School of Waukesha Hosts Open House and International Fair

One of the most important decisions families with young children face is how best to educate them. Touring schools of varying educational philosophies can help families make an informed choice. The Montessori School of Waukesha (MSOW) is offering an open house, from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m., November 3, so families can visit the school, meet the teachers and learn about the Montessori approach to education, which comprises hands-on learning, multi-age classes and individualized instruction. The family event also boasts an International Fair—a celebration of diversity, with cuisine, crafts and traditional entertainment representing a variety of cultures throughout the world.

The Montessori Method, which is more than 100 years old, aims to help children develop into confident, caring and independent individuals. Montessori students tend to excel in a variety of academic areas and are usually ahead of the expectations of traditional schools for their grade level. MSOW is surrounded by grassy play areas, hills and woods—a perfect setting to free children to learn through exploration of the environment.
