Join Mamata Kate for a journey into the beginner’s mind! The hour will begin with a short breathing exercise to quiet the mind. The class will then focus on using the beginner’s mind, the concept that children have no previous information about topics or objects and are approaching them for the first time. Kate will use light touch, sound, and smell to help the children become mindful of their senses and focus their attention into their bodies. Kate will guide the class in a calming breathing exercise and conclude the class with a guided meditation, taking the children on a magical journey through their mind’s eye.
This class is designed for school aged children under 10. Parents and young siblings are welcome to attend at no additional cost. Please note age of child/children at sign up. Gathering is limited to 8 children.
Kate is a certified mindfulness instructor for all ages called back into service by her angels. She used her background in nursing as a foundation to build her mindfulness path, and has the following accreditations: Fully Accredited Mindfulness for Teenagers and Schools, Mindfulness for Children, and Mindfulness for Children Diploma. Kate also received Certification in Mindfulness from UWM through an accredited continuing nursing education course. She uses the mindfulness practices learned as well as spiritual guidance and intuition to coach her clients to finding a more peaceful way to move through life.
