This fall book club will offer Humanly Possible: Seven Hundred Years of Humanist Freethinking, Inquiry and Hope by Sarah Bakewell. Humanist teachings are one of the six sources of our UU Living Tradition. This book by Sarah Bakewell explores humanist thinkers from the 14th century to the present and how they managed to pursue their ideas in the face of the political and/or religious persecutions of their day. We will meet in person on six Thursday evenings in the High School room at church from 7:00 pm - 8:30 pm. The Thursday evenings are September 14, September 28, October 12, October 26, November 9, and November 30. We would like to have you join us for a discussion of this book and its meaning for our time in history. If you are interested in attending, please sign up by emailing Lois Remeikis at [email protected].
