Books that have Marked Our Lives
A Mini-Retreat for Readers
Despite the omnipresence of TV and the constant messaging, many of us are by nature and grace Readers. We greet our friends and even new acquaintances with “What are you reading now?” We begin to realize that our bookshelves mark times and movement in our lives—the broadenings and deepenings of fiction and non-fiction, uplifts of poetry and humor, new spiritual paradigms, accents on complex concerns, pieces of the human story, wonders of our natural world, and the call of goodness, truth, and beauty.
Come with some special books, a list of more, and some blank pages for reflection and to mark down titles you hear from others. It will be great to share our enthusiasm, growth, and spiritual blessing of being a Reader.
