We are alive at the tipping point of an Earth emergency—and an Earth emergence. A “Great Turning” into a wiser, kinder human species is urgent. It is also already happening. The magnificent, creative energies of the Universe are already and always moving through us.

In this retreat, you will discover ten energies (or “powers,” according to cosmologist Brian Swimme) of the Universe within yourself. Practicing these ten energies of the Universe—such as “emergence,” “allurement” and “synergy”—empowers us to pivot into our awakening. We can embody each of these simple practices using meditation, journaling, dialogue, time in nature, and imagination.

The foundation of these evolutionary practices is the Circle or “Via” of awakening of two 13th century teachers, Zen ancestor Eihei Dogen and Dominican Meister Eckhart. Their vision for the “Great Turning” is also seen in the work of contemporary author and wisdom elder, Joanna Macy. Pivoting toward a viable future cannot be determined by world leaders.
