Mandala Mosaic Craft
Putting together the pieces of our lives.
Mandala Mosaic Craft: Putting together the pieces of our lives. Discover the gratifying experience of making your own Mosaic Mandala. Creatively connect with your inner wisdom and explore this unique artistic medium of mosaics.
A Mosaic is an ancient Greek artwork originally done with pebbles. Tesserae (tiles, stone, glass, beads, etc.) becomes a mosaic when pieces of tile, fragments and other treasures come together to form an image. When combining small parts, the big picture can be revealed. This art represents the connection between our inner world and our outward reality.
During the hands-on exploratory workshop, learn to use Mandalas as a tool for meditation and reflection. All Mandala art supplies will be provided. No art experience is needed.
ABOUT THE PRESENTER
Milwaukee native, Heather Eiden, is a contemporary ceramicist, folk artist, and storyteller using clay as her medium. With a narrative treatment, her art tiles showcase carved images of everyday life and fantasy. All of her pieces start with a drawing. Drawing is a mindfulness practice and the foundation of her creative process. “It is a journey from the periphery to the center of the self,” she says. A symbolic vocabulary is always merging through this process of drawing inward like a yogi. She holds a Bachelor of Fine Art, a Master’s of Science in Art Education, a 200-hour Yoga Certification, and a Yoga Health Counselor Certification. Heather has been teaching yoga throughout Milwaukee since 2005.
