On Sunday, April 12, at Discovery World, the Milwaukee Makers Market & Marketplace will open its new season, welcoming shoppers to a vibrant celebration of local artistry along the city’s lakefront. Founded by local artist Ryan Laessig, the free monthly market runs April through December at venues throughout Milwaukee, spotlighting a diverse mix of artists, crafters and small-business owners.
Visitors can explore thoughtfully curated booths featuring ceramics, woodwork, artisan foods, handcrafted home décor and other handmade goods that reflect the creativity and entrepreneurial spirit of the region. Each event is designed to offer a fresh lineup of vendors, encouraging repeat visits and ongoing community engagement.
“It’s a celebration of Milwaukee’s creators and our local community,” Laessig says, noting that each market is carefully curated to ensure variety and high-quality craftsmanship. Beyond shopping, the gatherings foster meaningful connections between makers and neighbors, strengthening the local economy and supporting sustainable small-business growth.
Each market runs from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., but locations change throughout the season. The April 12 market takes place at Discovery World, 500 N. Harbor Dr., Milwaukee. For a full schedule of upcoming markets and vendor information, visit MilwaukeeMakersMarket.com.
