Autumn Appalachian Trail Women’s Hiking Retreat is Back by Popular Demand

The third women’s hiking trip hosted by Trail Dog & Company in the Carolinas will take place in beautiful Hot Springs, North Carolina from October 5 through 10.

“Hike the Appalachian Trail during the day and soak in the healing hot springs at night!” announces Liz Pfeifer, a positive and passionate hiker and the founder of Trail Dog and Company. “Trail Dog and Company is your local, professional hiking guide service that can help you achieve personal growth goals in 2024 with unique women’s hiking retreats on the iconic Appalachian Trail.” The first two hiking trips sold out quickly, and the third hike is now available for hikers that are eager to reserve their space.

North Carolina Women’s Hiking Trip: October 5–10


 Woman of all ages are welcome. The hiking activity Level is rated three to four on a scale of one to five. Hikers will walk about seven to eleven miles a day on this scenic portion of the Appalachian Trail. “Experience impressive views from iconic places like Max Patch and Lovers Leap all while slackpacking (day hiking) and no camping required,” Pfeifer explains.

After a stunning and inspiring hike along the Appalachian Trail during the day, hikers will come back to a relaxing vacation rental with the comforts of a hot shower and cozy bed at night. In addition to hiking, participants can enjoy dining at local restaurants, shopping in charming local stores and be fully immersed in Appalachian Trail culture with a Wilderness First Responder certified guide.

Cost: $2,100 with early-bird registration before July 15. $200 down payment is due at sign-up to secure a spot. Price includes private bedroom, all meals and snacks, and transportation to and from the trailhead.  Not included: flight or transportation to/from North Carolina, alcoholic beverages and guide gratuities.
