Mackenzie Prentice, a functional medical nurse practitioner at Lakeside Natural Medicine in Shorewood, WI, will lead Food for Thought—Nutrition and Brain Health from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., October 14, in Shorewood. The workshop features a lecture on the foods, nutrients and lifestyle tactics to optimize brain function, along with cooking demonstrations, tastings and recipes, as well as a question-and-answer session with the doctor. Optional professional-grade supplements will also be available for purchase.

“The food you eat directly affects your ability to focus, remember and maintain a balanced mood. With Alzheimer’s, attention deficit hyperactivity disorder, Parkinson’s and mood disorders on the rise, it is time to safeguard yourself against cognitive decline and neurological disease with your diet and lifestyle,” says Dr. Sarah Axtell, naturopathic doctor and founder of Lakeside Natural Medicine.

Prentice helps people facing many health conditions such as digestive disorders, autoimmune disorders, weight loss resistance, food sensitivities, hormone imbalances and thyroid disorders.
