Lakeside Natural Medicine Presents Food is Medicine Virtual Workshop

Dr. Sarah Axtell

At Lakeside Natural Medicine, a natural health and wellness clinic that in May relocated to a larger space in Shorewood, owner Dr. Sarah Axtell’s goal is to help repair each patient’s health primarily using food as medicine. From 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. on October 17, Axtell will host a Food is Medicine Virtual Workshop: 10 Nutrition Essentials for Optimal Health, live from the clinic’s new teaching kitchen.

"Our vision for this new space was to create a ‘Food is Medicine’ center for Milwaukee where we can host group nutrition workshops as well as offer individual naturopathic health and wellness consultations,” Axtell enthuses. While physically gathering in their new teaching kitchen is not possible at this time, this livestreamed virtual workshop will be an opportunity to learn, ask questions in real time and observe healthy cooking demos from the comfort of home. Informational slides and recipes are included.

Axtell strives to clear up confusion regarding nutrition and the “best” diets: Paleo, vegetarian, vegan, keto or gluten-free. In the two-hour, livestreamed virtual nutrition workshop, Axtell will bring clarity to the diet confusion and teach the 10 essentials of eating for optimal health. Learn about foods that can aid in weight loss, support the microbiome, decrease inflammation and regulate hormones.

Cost: $39/participant. To register, call 414-939-8748. For more information about Lakeside Natural Medicine, visit LakesideNaturalMedicine.com.
