The hour will begin with an age appropriate activity based on one of the principles of mindfulness. In this class, we will focus on non-judgment emotions. Kate will lead the class in a breathing exercise, as well as a meditation catered to the lesson. The goal of the class is to give the students an awareness of their emotions, where they exist inside their bodies, and how they identify them. Having this awareness is the first step in accepting our thoughts and feelings without judgement. Attention will also be drawn to the benefits of the breathing exercise during reflection.
This class is offered to school age children 10 years of age or younger and gathering is limited to 8 children under the age of 10. Younger children are welcome with parental supervision at no extra cost. Please bring a medium size stuffed animal and wear comfortable clothes.
