Feb 01, 2024 01:27PM ● By Jordan Peschek

Start 2024 with a resolution you actually want to keep—more adventure!” shares Liz Pfeifer, the founder of  Trail Dog & Company. “Trail Dog & Company is your local, professional hiking guide service that can help you achieve personal growth goals in 2024 with two unique women’s hiking retreats on the iconic Appalachian Trail.”

Hiking Trip 1: North Carolina, September 28–October 3

SECOND DATE ADDED: Hiking Trip in North Carolina November 9-14th

Hikers will journey along the Appalachian Trail and through the charming town of Hot Springs, North Carolina. On this day hiking trip, hikers experience impressive 360-degree views from iconic places like Max Patch and Lover’s Leap. There is no need to carry a heavy pack, as hikers will be staying at a relaxing vacation rental and returning home each day. “Two of the nights, we’ll soak our muscles in the healing waters of the mountain hot springs. We’ll eat at local restaurants, shop in locally-owned stores, and connect with other adventure-minded women,” shares Pfeifer.

Hiking Trip 2: Virginia, October 26–31

This hike goes through one of the most picturesque sections of the Appalachian Trail in Damascus, Virginia. “You’ll hike with the famous wild ponies of Grayson Highlands, squeeze through legendary Fat Man’s Squeeze, and experience the magic and culture of the Appalachian Trail with an experienced guide,” Pfeifer explains. “We’ll hike approximately 7 to 10 miles during the day and come home to a relaxing vacation rental at night.” Hikers will challenge themselves on the trail during the day and still enjoy creature comforts like a shower, a scrumptious dinner and private bedroom as well.

All guides are certified wilderness first responders, so hikers can hit the trail feeling confident and safe, all while being in a positive and supportive group environment. Women of all ages are welcome. Both trips are rated an activity level of 3 to 4 on a scale of 1 to 5.

Cost per retreat: $2,100 (if paid via Venmo, Paypal, cash or check). Register before March 15 to receive early bird rate.

Price includes private bedroom, all meals and snacks, and transportation to and from the trailhead. For info or to secure a spot, visit TrailDogAndCompany.com or email [email protected]
