Relaxation, Focus, Action: Saturday Morning Class in Aikido (Japanese martial art)

Learn the power of moving freely without aggression through the martial art of aikido. Class taught by chief instructor Marsha Turner (6th degree black belt).

Aikido is a Japanese martial art offering a path towards achieving a focused and attentive state of mind, while maintaining a sense of calm and a relaxed body. Its techniques are drawn from traditional forms of unarmed and armed combat, but its goals are neither fighting nor competition. While practiced by some as a form of self-defense or exercise, it is more importantly a way to find balance amid the rush of modern life.

We invite newcomers to join one of our regular classes with chief instructor Marsha Turner. You are welcome to merely observe or step on the at for a one-time trial. If participating, please arrive about 15 minutes before class to introduce yourself and fill out a waiver. Wear comfortable clothes suitable for movement, rolling and falling.

Walk-ins welcome. If you have any questions, please contact us at [email protected].
