Milwaukee’s Second Annual Earth Day Celebration

The city of Milwaukee’s Office of Environmental Sustainability and Rock the Green will collaborate to present their second annual Earth Day Celebration, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., April 19, just outside City Hall, on Market Street. Mayor Tom Barrett and other speakers will discuss the city’s efforts toward environmental sustainability.

Eco-educational booths will feature organizations and city departments, such as the Department of Public Works, Me2, Midwest BikeShare, Milwaukee Shines and Rock the Green. Local bands will provide music powered by pedaling bicyclists. The event will be produced with near-zero waste, employing compostable servingware for food vendors and waste reclamation stations, provided by Waste Management, for recyclables, compostables and waste.
