Rock the Green’s 13th Annual Earth Day Celebration to Follow Milwaukee Riverkeeper Spring Cleanup

Apr 01, 2024 12:00AM ● By Natural Awakenings Milwaukee
From 9 a.m. to noon on Saturday, April 20, Milwaukee Riverkeeper will host the 29th annual Spring Cleanup, a community-wide event to clean up and restore our rivers in over 80 locations around the Milwaukee River Basin in Milwaukee, Ozaukee, Washington and Waukesha counties. Free T-shirts, gloves and trash bags are provided to volunteers. Afterward, cleanup volunteers and the community are invited to Rock the Green’s (RTG) 13th annual Earth Day celebration presented by Milwaukee Riverkeeper, held from noon to 3 p.m. at the Harley Davidson Museum campus.

The free, zero-waste celebration includes a concert on a pedal-powered stage featuring Sarah Fierek & the Wildflowers, Jonah Danae and more. Jessica Hope of MKE Yoga Social will host goat and critter yoga; participants can sign up in advance. Many local organizations committed to conservation, education and sustainability will be present including the Alliance for the Great Lakes, Bublr Bikes, City of Milwaukee Environmental Collaboration Office, Riveredge Nature Center and Compost Crusader. The celebration features a family area with kids programming using solar power, courtesy of Arch Electric. The Harley-Davidson Museum’s bar and restaurant, Motor, will offer sustainable fare and local beer for purchase.

This year, RTG will honor Eileen Seeger, RTG Pedal Power Coordinator, with the 4th Dan Aukofer Earth Day Rockstar Award.
